Dr. William Lambert joined Kilpatrick Townsend’s Silicon Valley office as Counsel on the Health and Life Sciences and Electronics and Software Teams in 2012. Lambert focuses his practice on patent prosecution and client counseling, including the preparation of validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate opinions. He has expertise in the chemical, pharmaceutical, biomedical, materials, mechanical, and electronic industries.

Lambert has an extensive background in technology and over 20 years of research and development experience allowing him to work with a wide range of technologies, including semiconductor materials, device fabrication, surface chemistry, fiber optics, photonics, electronic materials, optical and electronic interconnections, polymers, telecommunications, manufacturing, photonics/optoelectronics materials, and electronic packaging. He has also worked as patent counsel for a Bay Area pharmaceutical start-up company, co-founded a start-up electronic packaging company, and was a member of the technical staff with AT&T/Lucent Technologies Bell Laboratories at Murray Hill for 17 years.

Lambert is a named inventor on 11 patents and the author of more than 50 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals.

He earned his J.D. from the University of New Hampshire School of Law (formerly Franklin Pierce Law Center), his Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from the California Institute of Technology, and his B.A. in Biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley.

Lambert is an elected Trustee of the Mountain View Whisman School District and serves on the Board of the Day Workers Center of Mountain View.
