Peter C. Lando is one of the founding partners of Lando & Anastasi, LLP.  Over the course of his career, Mr. Lando has been involved in hundreds of due diligence investigations for acquisitions and divestitures of IP portfolios, involving new businesses to companies valued at more than $1 billion, and he has been the primary negotiator or lead counsel in dozens of licensing and related business transactions.

Mr. Lando has extensive experience in the chemical process industries, water and wastewater treatment technologies, polymers, small particles, specialty metals and ceramics, medical devices, and mechanical and industrial designs. He is one of the country’s leading attorneys on "clean" and "green" technologies. He has, for example, been involved in patent prosecution, clearance, diligence, transactions, and enforcement for more water and wastewater technologies than any other lawyer (or firm) over the past 15 years. This experience has made him a sought-after counsel by venture capital investors in these technologies, both nationally and internationally.

Mr. Lando recently was named to International Asset Management Magazine’s 2012 IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners 2012, where he was described as “a real difference-maker,” and “a creative, solutions-oriented lawyer who leverages intellectual property as a vehicle with which to further his clients’ commercial objectives.” He also is included in the 2011/2012 edition of IAM250: The World’s Leading Patent & Technology Licensing Lawyers, where it was noted that he is "clearly outstanding in terms of his knowledge of IP law." Mr. Lando has been recognized every year since 2004 (the inception of the designation), as one of Massachusetts’ and New England’s "Super Lawyers" in the field of intellectual property, an acknowledgement limited to the top 5 percent of attorneys chosen by their peers. He has an AV rating in Martindale-Hubbell.

Mr. Lando is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and in various federal courts, and he is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He received his J.D. from the University of New Hampshire School of Law, and he is a member of the school’s board of trustees (chair, development committee); a member of the Franklin Pierce Center for Intellectual Property Advisory Council; and a former adjunct professor of patent law at the school. Mr. Lando received a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Drexel University, and he was honored as a recipient of the 2006 College of Engineering Alumni Circle of Distinction Award. He has served as an advisory council member of the Drexel University College of Engineering. Mr. Lando received an MBA degree in management from Rutgers University, and he currently serves as an industry advisory board member of the Rutgers University School of Engineering. Mr. Lando also is an inaugural member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

In addition to his university-related board service, Mr. Lando is a past president of the Boston Patent Law Association. He is a founding member of the Boston IP Inn of Court and maintains memberships in the Licensing Executive Society and the American Intellectual Property Law Association. Mr. Lando also is a board member (chair, nominating committee) and clerk of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra.
