This seminar will include an introduction to the theory and doctrine of statutory interpretation,
with some focus on theories legislative process, but more emphasis on the former than the latter.
Students study, learn, and analyze in detail the doctrines associated with statutory interpretation,
including more mechanical and advocacy-oriented issues such as the distinctions between
internal and external methods of construction (both philosophical practical), and the canons of
statutory construction.
This course will meet 2 hours for 7 weeks.
