Sports and Entertainment Law Symposium
On Saturday March 29th, the UNH Law Sports and Entertainment Law Society (SELS) and Student Intellectual Property Law Association (SIPLA) co-hosted a symposium highlighting the integration of entertainment, music, and sports issues into contemporary legal practice.
The presentations and networking lunch featured remarks from several practitioners and scholars in the sports and entertainment industries, including:
Valerie Lovely, UNH Law adjunct professor and founder of the Music Law Firm
Peter T. Foley, New Hampshire sports lawyer and agent
Paul Durham, New Hampshire entertainment lawyer and novelist
Michael McCann, UNH Law sports law professor and director of the Sports & Entertainment Law Institute; sports analyst for Sports Illustrated
- Alexandra J. Roberts, UNH Law entertainment law professor and then director of the Franklin Pierce Center for Intellectual Property
The symposium focused on the pragmatic legal issues that practitioners in the sports and entertainment industries are faced with as well as an explanation of how those issues are resolved. Guest speakers provided insight into their own experiences related to these issues.
