Lisa N. Thompson
Since graduating from UNH Law in 2000, Lisa N. Thompson has worked in-house for several Fortune 500 companies where she focused on all aspects of corporate, licensing, copyright and trademark law.
She has prosecuted and enforced major consumer brands and famous marks such as Scholastic®, Clifford the Big Red Dog®, Harry Potter®, Mattel®, Barbie®, Matchbox®, 3M®, Post-it® and Scotch®. While at 3M Company, she had primary global responsibility for the protection and enforcement of the 3M brand and directed an international anti-counterfeiting program.
Thompson has extensive international experience pertaining to Internet-related issues, including developing 3M's corporate-wide new media guidelines for evolving technologies, privacy, and social media platforms. She also has significant experience in Internet issues, including keyword advertising, privacy issues, cybersquatting, and COPPA compliance, and has prevailed in over 50 cybersquatting cases through US and international domain name arbitration proceedings.
She recently joined HageHodes PA, where her practice focuses on assisting small start-up businesses and private companies in developing cost-effective brand strategies, and counsels clients on strategic brand management and protection. She also works with artists and entrepreneurs seeking protection for their creative works and assists clients in securing protection for copyright-eligible works.
