Speed Mentoring: for Students & Attorney Mentors
Students: meet attorneys practicing in areas that may interest you. Ask questions, make connections, explore career paths you might not have considered before, and have some food and fun at the same time!
This is the second in a free comprehensive two-part series on mentoring to promote professionalism and excellence in the practice of law put on by the Webster-Batchelder and Gajarsa American Inns of Court, University of New Hampshire School of Law, New Hampshire Bar Association, and New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association.
1Ls: 4:30 – 5:45 p.m. (sign-in opens at 4:15 p.m.)
2Ls & 3Ls: 6:15 – 7:30 p.m. (sign-in opens at 6:00 p.m.)
Complimentary hors d’oeuvres, cash bar (for 21+)
In a concept similar to speed dating, attorneys (who completed the mentoring training on 10/7/14) will be assigned tables by mentoring topic. Groups of law students will rotate between the tables at the sound of a bell. Participating attorneys will be asked to be prepared to field student questions on particular mentoring topics, such as achieving academic success and making the most out of law school, finding and developing a practice area, work/life balance, getting and keeping clients, spotting conflicts of interests, etc.
Students, please sign up using the sign-up sheets on the table in the Career Services Office by Monday, October 6 if you’re interested in participating in this event.
Attorneys from NHWBA, WB AIC, or Gajarsa AIC who are interested in participating should RSVP directly to their affiliate organization (NHWBA, WB AIC or Gajarsa AIC). Attorneys from the NHBA who are interested in participating should contact Kate DeForest at Sulloway & Hollis at email@example.com. Attorneys should NOT RSVP directly to UNH Law.
