Multimedia - Videoconferencing
Videoconferencing is when two or more people engage in a video/audio conversation or presentation over an internet connection using either a computer program or hardware designed solely for videoconferencing. This is helpful for situations where one or more individuals can not make it to a meeting due to distance, time, or budget constraints or for the shear convenience of being able to just turn on the conference software to contact anyone in the world.
Option 1:
Videoconference system in 274 is a two camera high definition system that can contact any videoconference system via IP address or conference with multiple locaitons using the video bridge. This option will require booking room 274 and arranging with the Computer Services Technician and Media Producer the details of your conference (see below)
Option 2:
Movi is desktop videoconference software. It is a simple piece of software, similar to Skype, that allows you to contact videoconference systems or other Movi users. Movi requires certain information to install and a username/password, this can all be provided by the Computer Services Technician and Media Producer by request (see below)
Option 3:
Skype is free and requires only a free Skype, a webcam, and a computer. Visit Skype.com for more information
