Renewal Requirement for Conditional Merit Scholarships

For entering class of 2014:

Conditional merit scholarship retention is determined annually. The recipient’s cumulative GPA is evaluated at the end of his/her second and fourth regular semesters of study.

Recipients achieving a cumulative GPA of ≥ 3.00 will retain the original scholarship award in full; if the cumulative GPA is between 2.80 and 2.99 at the end of the second semester, the scholarship will be reduced to 35% of original award for the next two semesters, or if the GPA is ˂ 2.80 it will be forfeited for the next two semesters.

Upon fourth semester cumulative GPA evaluation, merit scholarships which were reduced or forfeited may be reinstated (in full or at 35% of original amount) for the final two semesters per GPA criteria outlined above.

For entering classes of 2012 and 2013:

Conditional merit scholarship retention is determined annually. The recipient’s cumulative GPA is evaluated at the end of his/her second and fourth regular semesters of study.

Recipients achieving a cumulative GPA of ≥ 3.20 will retain the original scholarship award; if the cumulative GPA is between 2.80 and 3.19 at the end of the second and fourth regular semester, the merit scholarship will be renewed on a pro-rata basis of the original award as outlined in the table below; if the cumulative GPA is ˂ 2.80 at the end of the second regular semester, the scholarship will be forfeited for the next two regular semesters with the opportunity to regain the scholarship after the fourth semester cumulative GPA is evaluated (merit scholarship may be reinstated for final two semesters based on table below).
