Kamal Bal

Kamal Bal is a Trademark Examining Attorney at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) concentrating her work on the prosecution of trademarks across all industries. During her tenure at the USPTO, Kamal also worked as a Senior Attorney for a trademark law office where she supervised other examining attorneys and as an Attorney Advisor in the IP Attaché Program for promoting and protecting intellectual property rights abroad. Kamal has spoken at the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) Boot Camp covering trademark prosecution tips and strategies. With over 10 years of intellectual property experience covering a range of industries, Attorney Bal was recognized in 2019 for her superior performance in trademark examination with the Bronze Medal Award. Attorney Bal’s career began in the private sector at Oliff & Berridge, as an Intellectual Property Associate supporting Fortune-500 companies by providing advice on patent litigation and trademarks, and continued at Bloomberg where she spearheaded legal analysis for the Bloomberg Law research platform. She is also a published author of “Why America Needs A European Fashion Police” for Oxford Journal of Intellectual Property Law and Practice. Kamal is an alumna of Fordham University and graduated from the University Of New Hampshire School Of Law.
