Steve M. Burke

Adjunct Professor, Personal Income Taxation, Business Entities Taxation

UNH Law alum Steven M. Burke practices law at McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton, where he is a shareholder and director and chair of the tax department. Steve has over 20 years of experience with business, individual, tax, ERISA and fiduciary issues. He concentrates his practice in the business and corporate tax areas as well as estate planning, ESOP, employee benefits and state and federal level tax areas. He also works closely with the Board of Trustees of a variety of exempt organizations, colleges, and independent schools in connection with governance, fiduciary, tax, and transactional matters.

In addition to his J.D. from UNH Law, Steve holds an LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law and an MBA from the University of Lowell. Steve is a member of both the New Hampshire Bar Association, where he is a past president of the tax section, and the Massachusetts Bar Association. He is admitted to practice as a Certified Public Accountant in those states as well. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Hampshire Society of Certified Public Accountants, and he currently serves as a member of the board of directors and is a past president of the society’s board. He also serves as the McLane Law Firm’s general delegate to the Terralex network of independent law firms. Prior to joining McLane in 1990, Steve worked in the Boston office of Price Waterhouse.
