Adjunct Professor, Evidence
Behzad Mirhashem was born in Iran, and came to the United States in 1978. He graduated from Williams College in 1982, then obtained his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Maryland (1987) and his J.D. from Northeastern (1993).
Behzad was a public defender in NH from 1993 to 2008, including three years as an Assistant Appellate Defender, when he argued criminal appeals before the NH Supreme Court. He joined the Federal
Defender in 2008, starting in the Boston office as a research and writing specialist, and then becoming an Assistant Federal Public Defender. He transferred to the New Hampshire office of the Federal Defender in November 2011.
He has been an adjunct professor at UNH Law for almost a decade.
