Richard Uchida, JD '84

Richard Y. Uchida has been practicing law for more than 25 years in New Hampshire, concentrating in real estate development, business transactions, and professional conduct matters. Uchida is a partner in the law firm of Hinckley, Allen & Snyder in Concord, NH.

He is past president of the New Hampshire Bar Association, and he has served as treasurer for the New Hampshire Bar Foundation. He has also served on numerous bar committees, task forces and projects, both in New Hampshire and nationally. Uchida has been a member of the New Hampshire Judicial Council and the Supreme Court Professional Conduct Committee, and he is a current member of the New Hampshire Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission. He has served on the Colby College Board of Trustees since 2006 and is currently vice chair of that board. He also serves as a director on the board of the Capitol Center for the Arts.

Uchida is the recipient of the 2009 New Hampshire Bar Association Award for Outstanding Commitment to Legal Services for the Poor, the 1998 New Hampshire Bar Association Award for Distinguished Service to the Legal Profession, and the 2001 Merrimack County Lawyer of the Year award.

He taught professional responsibility as an adjunct professor at UNH Law from 1988 to 1992 and again in 1994.

Uchida is a UNH School of Law 2011 Diversity Committee member.
