Daniel Sklar concentrates his practice in lending transactions, loan workouts and liquidations, bankruptcy reorganizations, and lender liability. He also has extensive experience in the area of corporate law and commercial transactions. Over the past 20 years, Sklar has represented debtors, trustees, secured creditors, committees, stockholders, lessors, and senior executives in large Chapter 11 cases around the country, and has also been involved in a number of international insolvencies.
Sklar was recently named “Manchester Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers for 2011. He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America since 1988 and received his certification in business bankruptcy law from the American Bankruptcy Board of Certification in 1993. Sklar is recognized for exceptional standing in the legal community in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business 2012 for bankruptcy work. Sklar has been recognized in Chambers USA in previous years. He has also been recognized as a “New England Super Lawyer” in Bankruptcy and Creditor/Debtor Rights based on a peer-review survey by Thomson Reuters (2007-2011).
Sklar received his B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania, his J.D. degree from Boston College Law School, and his LL.M. from Boston University Law School.
