Michel Marie Rose graduated from UNH School of Law (formerly Franklin Pierce Law Center) in 1997, after completing a final semester externship at IBM in their Intellectual Property & Licensing Dept. in New York. After graduation and summer bar exam studies, she went to work for Golf Digest Magazine, which was then a subsidiary of The New York Times Company Magazine Group, located in Trumbull, CT.
After a few years in the magazine business, Rose went to a small IP boutique law firm in NYC and represented various multi-national global consumer products companies. Armed with valuable law firm experience, Rose transitioned back to an in-house position at Whirlpool Corporation, specializing in trademark, copyright, licensing and internet law, both in the U.S. and internationally. She is currently senior trademark counsel for Whirlpool Corporation, managing many of their major global brands, including Whirlpool, Maytag, Jenn-Air and Gladiator Garageworks.
During Rose’s 12 year tenure at Whirlpool, she has done global trademark prosecution, UDRP proceedings, and litigated many infringement cases, most recently in England and France. Last year Rose passed the patent bar and has added patent work to her portfolio of services.
Known for her creative solutions to trademark law, Rose also devotes a great deal of her free time to photography, focusing on garden, landscape and travel. Work on the second book about the same garden is already underway.
Michel Marie Rose is also a military war veteran, having served in the US Navy during Desert Storm.
