Assistant Director of Externships
Courtney Q. Brooks is an Associate Clinical Professor and is currently the Assistant Director of Externships. Next fall, the Externship Program will be renamed the Legal Residency Program and Brooks will serve as Interim Director.
In this role Brooks will continue to establish and maintain high quality legal residency placements which meet the educational and career goals of UNH Law’s diverse student population.
She will also continue to guide legal residency students through their placement experiences, work with students who have problems in their placements to develop a strategy for success, and design curricula for legal residency courses which focus on professionalism and skills development.
Prior to joining UNH School of Law in 2010, Brooks worked as a business litigation and products liability attorney at Nixon Peabody LLP in Manchester, NH; Pierce Atwood LLP in Portsmouth, NH; and Reed Smith LLP in Oakland, CA.
She is admitted to practice in California, New Hampshire, Maine, and the U.S. District Courts for Colorado, New Hampshire, Maine and the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of California.
