Director, Intellectual Property and Transaction Clinic
Ashlyn J. Lembree is director of the Intellectual Property and Transaction Clinic at the University of New Hampshire School of Law’s Franklin Pierce Center for Intellectual Property. She provides guidance to students as they gain a solid background in trademark and copyright registration practice, formation and governance for start-ups and aspirational 501(c)(3) organizations, intellectual property contract drafting, handling intellectual property infringement claims, legal writing, client counseling, and negotiations by representing clients in actual cases.
Although generally focusing on transactional and pre-litigation cases, the IP Clinic has also represented parties in IP litigation pending in federal district court. Professor Lembree also teaches Federal Trademark and Copyright Registration Practice.
With more than 15 years in practice, Lembree has extensive knowledge about integrating intellectual property issues into the needs of business law clients. Prior to joining the University of New Hampshire School of Law, she practiced intellectual property law, general business law, and litigation at New Hampshire firms.
A graduate of UNH School of Law, Lembree earned a BA at the University of Vermont in 1991. She is a member and former chair of the Intellectual Property Section of the New Hampshire Bar Association, and is licensed to practice in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
