Led by one of the nation's foremost authorities in sports law, the Sports and Entertainment Law Institute hosts a variety of events that shine the spotlight on important national cases and provides students the opportunity to gain invaluable hands-on experience in legal residencies with organizations including Sony Music, Under Armour, and the Dallas Cowboys.
Sports and Entertainment Law Institute
The Institute is run by professor Michael McCann, a prolific sports law writer for Sports Illustrated and SI.com who has gained a reputation as one of the nation’s leading experts in sports law. The Sports & Entertainment Law Institute (SELI) is guided by full-time professors with deep contacts in the sports and entertainment legal fields who closely mentor students in the program. Those faculty include Professors Tonya Evans and Alexandra Roberts, two leading national commenters on entertainment law.
Through SELI, students have landed coveted externships and employment opportunities with NBA, NFL and NHL teams as well as with national sports agencies, top apparel companies and companies in the music and technology sectors.
