Kathy Fletcher

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Kathy Fletcher as LLNE’s first Equity Director.

Kathy currently serves as the Reference and Public Services Librarian at the University of New Hampshire, Franklin Pierce School of Law. Prior to her time at UNH, she worked at the New Hampshire Law Library and a private law firm. Notably, she holds the position of co-chair of the faculty Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee at UNH, showcasing her commitment to fostering an inclusive academic environment.

Beyond her professional duties, Kathy actively contributes to social justice initiatives, as a Social Justice Educator within a volunteer group. This volunteer group offers workshops that delve into critical issues such as power dynamics, privilege, discrimination, prejudice, inclusion, and equity.

Kathy’s dedication to our law school community is further evidence of her extensive involvement with LLNE, where she served in various leadership capacities, including Secretary, President, and Chair of the Scholarship Committee. Her scholarly pursuits in examining bias in traditional doctrinal casebooks and critical information literacy underscore her commitment to advancing legal education.

In her new role as Equity Director, Kathy will chair the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. This committee will play a pivotal role in collaborating with the executive board to assess priorities and action items through a DEI lens, ensuring a commitment to DEI initiatives across all facets of our institution.

We eagerly anticipate the positive impact that Kathy and the DEI Committee will have on making LLNE a more inclusive and equitable organization.
