WMUR Interview: Assistant Prof. Daniel Pi Comments on U.S. Supreme Court’s Likely Role in Reviewing Colorado Trump Ruling

In an interview with WMUR, UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law Assistant Professor Daniel Pi said he expects the U.S. Supreme Court to expeditiously review the recent decision by the Colorado Supreme Court disqualifying former President Trump from appearing on the state’s ballot because of his actions in connection with the violence at the Capitol on Jan. 6. 

 “Issues relating to the First Amendment and the Right to Free Speech and also interpreting Section 3 of the 14^thAmendment — determining what is an Officer of the United States and what counts as an insurrection — these are questions that have to be decided at the highest level,” Pi said.
