AI & the Role of the Library

In an era of instant information, where AI cannot just answer your question but write an essay for you - what is the role of the law library? That’s what we’re talking about today on “The Legal Impact.” Our guests are two longtime law librarians at UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law. They’ll reflect on the massive shifts they’ve seen in legal research, library practice, and the students they serve. And listeners, set aside any image you might have of old-fashioned, fussy people, preoccupied with dusty books. These professionals are anything but; they’re constantly adapting to rapid changes in knowledge, technology, and new approaches toward training the next generation of lawyers.
Our guests are Susan Drisko Zago, Professor and Law Library Director. She teaches legal research in the areas of copyright and trademark, social justice, health care, international law and legal practice. Professor Zago is active in many professional library associations, including the international library consortium “NELLCO” where she is a board member and past president.
Also with us is Kathy Fletcher, Reference and Public Service Librarian. She’s been at UNH Franklin Peirce Law School for twenty years. Prior to that she worked at the NH Law Library. Kathy is also active in professional associations and she currently serves on the Executive Board of the Law Librarians of New England.
