Q: What is your name, year, and degree program?

A: Juliana Lofgren, 3L in the JD Program.

Q: Where are you from?

A: Originally from Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Q: What was your academic/work/personal background before law school?

A: I worked as a teacher and school counselor in public schools.

Q: Why UNH Franklin Pierce?

A: I moved to the Concord area before law school, so UNH Franklin Pierce was on my radar for that reason. When I toured, I realized how friendly a community it was, which was a big appeal.

Q: What is your involvement with the campus and local community?

A: During law school, I served on the board for the Women’s Law School Association and the International and Comparative Law Association.

Q: What do you enjoy most about the UNH Franklin Pierce Law experience?

A: I enjoyed the community of the school the most. The professors care about the students, and the students all root for one another. The overall friendliness and support within the UNH Franklin Pierce community is what made my experience here so great.

Q: What's your favorite spot around concord?

A: I love the White Park area and walking through the neighborhoods there.

Q: What’s your favorite activity/hobby outside of school?

A: I love hanging out at the barn with the horse I’m leasing. Spending time around animals, especially horses, has always been important to me. It is a great way to destress from school.

Q: Tell us something memorable about your law school experience.

A: The second semester of my 2L year, I studied abroad in London. Studying abroad is something I have always wanted to do, and I am really grateful that I had the opportunity in law school. I met law students from around the world and it helped broaden my perspective.

Q: What advice do you have for incoming law students in your program?

A: It’s ok if you aren’t sure what direction to take post-law school. Lean in to not knowing and taking the time to explore anything that seems interesting (and take some classes you know nothing about too – you may be surprised at what you discover!).
