5th Annual Art Law Call for Proposals

Peter Karol, of UNH Franklin Pierce, and Guy Rub, of The Ohio State University, are delighted to invite proposals for the fifth annual Art Law Works-in-Progress Colloquium. This distinctive event provides a scholarly venue for works-in-progress in art law, primarily geared towards a legal audience. It will be held in person at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH between Thursday, May 30, 2024, and May 31, 2024.

The colloquium will consist of a closed-door workshop for comments on draft articles and essays on art law (defined very broadly in subject matter but legal-academic-scholarship in style). All participants will be expected to read every draft paper before the workshop.

The Ohio State University and UNH Franklin Pierce are co-sponsoring the event and will provide meals and hotel accommodations for participants. We expect most of those selected to present to cover their own transportation costs. We will, however, be able to offer assistance in covering those costs to a limited number of participants who do not have access to institutional funds.

To be considered for the workshop, please send an abstract (up to approximately 300 words) describing a current art law scholarship project to Peter Karol (Peter.Karol@law.unh.edu) and Guy Rub (rub.1@osu.edu) by March 11, 2024. If you would like to be considered for transportation support, please indicate that as well. Selections will be announced by April 1, 2024. For each selected project, a full draft or a well-developed treatment (approximately 15 pages) will need to be submitted by May 6, 2024.

Please feel free to contact either Karol or Rub with any questions.
