Former Secretary of Defense Gen. James Mattis spoke to ROTC students in New Hampshire in December 2021, sharing his insights and experiences. Moderated by retired War College Professor Dr. Janet Breslin-Smith, the event included military veterans, NH ROTC candidates, and high school youth in a civil and nonpartisan conversation about the role of the military in a democracy.
Coda Campbell ‘23 and Skyler Ozenbaugh ’22, military veterans and members of the UNH Veterans Law Society, represented the law school.
Other participants from sites across the state included UNH Durham ROTC, Fall Mountain Regional High School JROTC in Langdon, White Mountain Regional HS JROTC in Whitefield, and Manchester West High School JROTC.
New Hampshire Civics, the Warren B. Rudman Center, and New Hampshire PBS were pleased to present this William W. About the Warren B. Rudman Center
The Warren B. Rudman Center for Justice, Leadership & Public Service at the UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law serves as a hub for public discourse on the policies and current events that shape our society. It provides programmatic and financial support for students interested in exploring careers in public service while supporting public programming and academic inquiry that align with its mission. The Center honors former U.S. Senator Warren B. Rudman, also the state’s attorney general, who was widely admired for his integrity and willingness to work with politicians across the aisle to advance the public interest.
