Today, Dean Megan Carpenter of UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law released the 2022 “State of the Law School” address.
The address highlights the law school’s recent accomplishments, including:
- UNH Franklin Pierce welcomed the largest, and strongest, class in the school’s history, with 219 incoming JD students (143 residential; 76 hybrid) and with higher rates of both transfers and master’s students, as well. These students had the highest LSATs and UGPA in the law school’s history.
- Student diversity in race and ethnicity is now just above 21%, making UNH Franklin Pierce the most diverse college within the UNH system. The school has also increased its enrollment of persons of color by over four-fold in the past 4 years.
- Over the last four years, the law school has seen enrollment growth at a total of 243%.
Dean Carpenter also talks about innovations in our Hybrid JD program—the nation’s first ABA-approved JD in a Specialized Area of the Law—including opening the application pool to international students and hosting immersive learning experiences throughout the US.
She also touches on the school’s progress in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts and the strength of its centers, institutes, and programs, including the IP Center, Rudman Center, Sports and Entertainment Law Institute, the health law and policy program, and the Daniel Webster Scholar Honors program. Other highlights include recognition of Student Affairs, Residencies, and the Career Services center.
