Nicole Lavacchia

Nicole Lavacchia joined the staff at UNH Franklin Pierce earlier this spring, looking for a permanent home after gaining experience at a few short-term career stops.

As the experiential learning assistant for both the UNH Law Clinics and the Legal Residencies Program, Lavacchia is grateful for the chance to put her skills to use. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2018 with a B.S. in criminal justice and a minor in legal studies. Her undergraduate focus gave her a first taste of the legal educational community.

“This job,” says Lavacchia of her post at UNH Franklin Pierce, “seemed like a great opportunity to use some of that knowledge.”

In her new role, Lavacchia provides support to the faculty and students of the UNH Law Clinics and assists the director of legal residencies in implementing program goals. She has enjoyed getting to know her colleagues, learning about their varied experiences, and hearing about students’ decisions to attend law school.

Outside of work, Lavacchia is an avid reader – particularly of fiction – who says her “ultimate goal in life is to have my own library in my house.” In her initial months at UNH Franklin Pierce, she says she has felt welcomed by all and is grateful to be a member of a thriving community.

“I am very excited to be a part of and contribute to such an excellent institution,” she says. “I love that I can help the students along their journeys and support the faculty as well.”
