Student Joshua Salazar discusses his experience as a Rudman Summer Fellow with the Rudman Center's Director of Community Engagement Laura Knoy.

Joshua Salazar, 2L, from Los Fresnos, Texas.  Joshua worked in the Cameron County District Attorney’s office in southern Texas, the area he is from originally.  He spent much of his time in the domestic violence division, where he helped victims and their families, serving a population he says is among the poorest in the country.   Joshua says his summer fellowship experience helped him decide what kind of law he wants to practice.  “I feel I have a certain set of skills, certain talents that I want to be able to use to make that impact on people who wouldn’t have access to justice otherwise,” he said.
